Kaleidoscope at the Hub Presents A Little Lunch Music

Des Moines, Iowa (May 23, 2005) Looking for some good local entertainment during your lunch hour? Get out of the heat and into the cool sounds at Kaleidoscope at the Hub. On Wednesdays throughout the summer, some of the Metro area's most talented musicians will provide musical entertainment in venues ranging from classical to jazz. "The nice thing about this series is that we offer some of the area's legendary talent as well as some very exciting young performers," says Kelly Sharp, Vice President of Marketing for Hubbell Realty Company. "With the free Wi-Fi connection at the Kaleidoscope, it’s the perfect place to surf the web, eat lunch and enjoy some great music," she says. The lunchtime concerts will be 11-1 each Wednesday from June 1 through August 10th. The schedule of performers is as follows: MUSICIANS June 1: Principal Singers June 8: Dave Liljedahl, piano June 15: Rob Lumbard, blues June 22: Janie Hooper, jazz/blues piano June 29: Melanie Wright, vocalist July 6: Rob Lumbard, blues July 13: Mike Aceto, solo acoustic performer July 20: Melanie Wright, vocalist July 27: Paul Michich, world music August 3: Stu Calhoun, jazz piano and vocals August 10: Janie Hooper, jazz/blues piano About the Kaleidoscope The Kaleidoscope at the Hub is owned and managed by Hubbell Realty Company. It houses three floors of retail and office eateries in an exciting design with a center sky lit atrium. The Kaleidoscope has a strong mix of apparel, restaurants, service retailers, medical, gift, and a food court on the third level. With seven skywalk bridges to major office buildings, the Kaleidoscope has the highest foot traffic count of the downtown skywalk with over 20,000 people passing through the skywalk level of the Kaleidoscope every day. Directions: The building stretches two blocks on Walnut from 5th Street to 7th Street. Drive down 5th street and park at the City ramp at 5th and Walnut or come down 7th street and park at the Partnership Bldg ramp at 7th and Locust. Both of these ramps are accessible to the building through the skywalk. There usually is parking on the street level as well and the weekends are free (except for the Partnership Bldg.)
