In The News

West Des Moines, IA (September 18, 2013) – The rain yesterday, Tuesday, September 17 did not slow down the progress of two 7500+ square foot cabins being built at Easter Seals Iowa’s Camp Sunnyside in just one week.  Even though the morning’s scheduled framing and roofing work was postponed by the weather, trade partners were able to work on the interior of the cabins until the skies cleared.  Once conditions were safe, exterior crews joined in on the build.  Different vendors working simultaneously on the interior and exterior of a construction project is not common practice, but Hubbell Realty Company’s trade partners are willing to join each other on the job site to ensure the project is finished by Monday’s 2:00 pm ribbon cutting.

The construction schedule today includes interior walls, trim and vinyl siding.  “We are all in awe of the progress that has been made so far,” said Easter Seals President and CEO Sherri Nielsen.  “Walking around camp in the rain reminded me of our old cabins and how on days like today, this water and mud would be inside the cabin, because of the poor foundation.  Our staff is unbelievably grateful to Hubbell and their trade partners for working so diligently to ensure our staff never has to deal with those issues again.”   “We could not complete a project like this without our trade partners” Hubbell Realty Company President and CEO, Rick Tollakson, stated.  “It takes a lot of people to make this come together, and we cannot thank them enough.”   Hubbell Realty is showing appreciation to all those who have contributed towards the build by hosting a VIP Party at Camp Sunnyside on Thursday night, featuring local country music artist, Jason Brown.  Sponsors of Cabins for Campers 24/7 and media personnel are invited to attend.
