West Des Moines, IA (September 20, 2013) – After five days of building, Hubbell Realty Company and its partners are on track for a ribbon cutting ceremony at 2:00 pm Monday, September 23 at Easter Seals Iowa’s Camp Sunnyside. The celebration will take place just 173 hours after construction began.

Guest speakers during Monday’s ribbon cutting will include Lieutenant Governor, Kim Reynolds, and Polk County Supervisor, Tom Hockensmith. After the ceremonial ribbon is cut, Camp Sunnyside campers and their families will be the first to see the new buildings, hanging artwork they created over the summer on the cabin walls. Rick Tollakson, Hubbell Realty Company President and CEO, and Sherri Nielsen, Easter Seals Iowa President and CEO, will guide tours through the cabins after the ceremony.

Construction was only briefly disrupted during yesterday’s storm, and the build will continue through the weekend in order to complete the cabins and site work prior to Monday’s ribbon cutting. “The rain slowed us down temporarily, but the energy and momentum on site is high,” said Rick Tollakson. “We are primarily working on the interiors now, and our trade partners are committed to getting this project done.” Thousands of trade partners and volunteers have come together for Cabins for Campers 24/7, providing Camp Sunnyside much-needed safe and accessible facilities.
