HUBBELL REALTY COMPANY PRESENTS COMMUNITY GIFTS TO LOCAL CHARITIES
West Des Moines, IA (October 20, 2015) – Hubbell Realty Company is pleased to announce that over $30,000 was raised during the annual Extreme Charity Golf Classic. The funds will be split evenly among three local charities, Puppy Jake Foundation, The Homestead and WesleyLife Meals on Wheels.
“Each of these organizations provides valuable services to the community,” said Rick Tollakson, CEO and president of Hubbell Realty Company. “We, along with the sponsors of the event, value their hard work and are proud to support their missions with the money raised during our annual event.”
The Extreme Charity Golf Classic, held at Copper Creek Golf Club, welcomed 240 golfers and community supporters. The event offered the chance to not only golf and enjoy the 18-year-old golf course in Pleasant Hill, but more importantly, support and raise money for three local charities..
“We were thrilled to be chosen this year,” said William Reed, vice president of philanthropy for WesleyLife, one of the three recipient charities. “It’s not every day that you receive a call saying, ‘We’d like to include you in our fundraising efforts.’”
This year, the three charities will take home $10,000 each; valuable funds which support valuable community efforts. “What a tremendous honor to have Hubbell work to bring the entire community together to support the Puppy Jake Foundation and two other great organizations,” said Becky Beach, CEO and board vice president of the Puppy Jake Foundation.
“The Homestead is honored to receive this gift from Hubbell and their partners,” said Steve Muller, CEO of The Homestead, the third charity supported by the event. “We are deeply engrained in the community and this support with enable us to continue our efforts to improve the quality of life of those impacted by autism.”
Each year, Hubbell’s associates are encouraged to submit organizations they would like the golf outing to support. Then, the more than 220 associates vote and the top three organizations are asked if they want to participate.
The chosen charities are asked to promote the golf outing within each of their individual networks of board members, donors and volunteers. The event is open to the public and is held each year in September. The 2016 event is tentatively set for September 8.
