7 Flags 24/7 X-Press to Open Iowa's First Exercise Gaming Gym in West Des Moines
West Des Moines, Iowa (November 6, 2008) – Members of the media are invited to a sneak peak and test run of Iowa’s first gym to emphasize exercise gaming on November 12 at 4 pm. The special equipment, developed by XRKade, is located at the corner of 88th Street and University Avenue in West Des Moines in the new 7 Flags 24/7 X-Press. Exercise gaming provides an immersive, interactive environment for those seeking a new workout. The GreenWay Crossing location includes equipment that allows members to work out while playing the popular Dance Dance Revolution game, a video kickboxing game, a video bicycling game and more. Using the newest technology available in the industry, XRKade equipment is particularly exciting for families seeking a way to work out together in a fun and competitive atmosphere. Players are able to compete against themselves, others in the gym, and even people working out in different parts of the country. Traditional workout equipment will also be available for gym members. 7 Flags owner and healthy living advocate Frank Santana is excited most by the possibilities that the XRKade equipment gives to families. “I am convinced that exercise gaming is the thing that will finally get our children motivated to work out,” he said. “Too many kids do not get enough exercise, and that has severe consequences later in life.” Members will be treated to executive-style locker rooms with full-length lockers and showers in the 24-hour facility. They will also have full access to the six other 7 Flags X-Press locations throughout the metro, as well as limited access to the main location in Clive. More information about the new gym and the XRKade equipment can be found at www.7FlagsAtGreenWay.com. To contact gym manager Marv Jones for more information about joining, please call (515) 339-2814.
