Radon, a colorless, odorless, radioactive gas produced by the breakdown of uranium in the earth, is a leading cause of lung cancer, according to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Currently, buyers are made aware of the possibility of high radon levels in a home, but testing or mitigation is not required by the seller. Hubbell Homes will install the passive system during construction and test the home before closing. If the home tests high, radon mitigation will be completed at no additional cost to the buyer.
