Decorate your home for the holidays

The holidays are one of our Hubbell Homes Design Teams’ favorite times of year. Outside of the days they are staging homes and choosing new color palettes for our homebuyers, decorating for specific holidays takes the cake.

Here are some recent videos and tips & tricks from our talented team of Stacey and Bailey.

How to Hang A Wreath

The front door is a focal point of all homes. This time of year, the quickest and easiest decoration – at a minimal cost – is a wreath! When hanging a wreath on your door, be sure to hang it 14 inches from the top of the door giving you enough space from the top and from the handle! This can be done via a stick-on hanger or an over-the-door wreath holder!

Fireplace Mantle Decor

Inside, the focal point tends to be the fireplace and the fireplace mantle. From stockings to knick-knacks, this is the second easiest area to decorate, only second to a tree! Flocked garland wrapped in a small string of lights is super easy, especially when the battery pack can be tucked away in the back. Other items you can add to your fireplace mantles are candles (we suggest faux), decorative bulbs or trees and stockings – as long as they’re hanged with care.

No fireplace? Consider decorating your coffee table, side tables or kitchen counters instead!

Photo Frames Swap

Want a super easy way to decorate your space without removing any photo frames? Download easy (and free) art pieces like “Deck the Halls” or “Have a Merry Christmas,” and print on standard paper to place in front of your current photos in your household frames! Once you know the size of the photo in the frame, it’s easy to customize, print and replace just for the holiday season. This adds a sense of fun cheer to any room that has photos! When it’s over, throw them away or recycle for next year!

Stacey and Bailey also sat down to tell us about some of their favorite holiday traditions, share what their personal trees and decorations look like this year and what they’re looking forward to most this holiday season:
