Hubbell starting Centennial Crossing, a rental townhome community in Waukee

Beginning in early 2020, Hubbell Realty Company will break ground on a new rental home community, named Centennial Crossing, in Waukee. The neighborhood, which is directly south of the popular 33-acre Centennial Park, will have around 130 homes. These attached single-family homes will be a mix of two- and three-bedrooms with open floorplans and attached 2-car garages.

The Waukee City Council unanimously approved on Monday, December 16th.

“After researching the market, we found a high need for rental homes, not only in this area, but in the housing market in general,” said Kris Saddoris, Vice President of Multifamily Development at Hubbell. “With the speed that Waukee is growing, these homes will be spacious enough for a growing family, but easy enough to maintain for someone looking to downsize and rid themselves of home maintenance.”

Centennial Crossing will have an on-site clubhouse and pool available to residents. The community will incorporate the natural surroundings, including prairie grasses, a trail way and a natural swale that runs diagonally through the neighborhood and into adjacent Glynn Village, a Hubbell conservation community. Hubbell, alongside Waukee city officials, hope the community trail will eventually connect to Centennial Park via a tunnel under University Avenue.

The homes, which will range from 1,250 to 1,700 square feet, will start at $1,695 for monthly rent. Construction is slated to start in early 2020 with the community completing in late 2022.
