WHOTV: Des Moines to Require Energy, Water Efficiency Reports

Nearly 800 buildings in Des Moines will now report their energy and water usage to the city following a final approval of a new ordinance by city council.

The ordinance will require all buildings - commercial and multi-family buildings - over 25,000 square feet to participate, including roughly 20 Hubbell-owned buildings.

"It's one of those things where I think both sides feel like it wasn't everything they wanted, but it was something they could live with. I think that probably indicates it was a good outcome,” said John Bergman, Vice President of Real Estate Management with Hubbell.
