Two Rivers Rental Homes hit single-family rental market

Two Rivers Home Rentals, built by Hubbell Homes and managed by Indigo Living, have hit the rental market. These single-family rental homes range from 1,200 up to 2,200 and feature 2-4 beds and 2-3 baths.

“These homes are just like any other you’d see throughout our Hubbell Homes communities. Some have basements with traditional exteriors, and others have private decks with more of a contemporary, modern style,” said Rachel Flint, Vice President Hubbell Homes. “We know there is a rental housing need for people who would rather rent a home than live in a traditional multifamily community yet may not be at the stage to buy.”

Hubbell is building 56 rental homes in nine communities across central Iowa with the first expected to be delivered at the end of July. Rental rates will range from $1,700 up to $2,700 for the larger footprint homes.

Many of today's renters fall within the millennial age group (30-44), who are looking to upsize into a larger footprint yet still are choosing to rent to sidestep large (20%) down payment and required maintenance. Single-family rentals are growing in popularity across the nation both in renter demand and investor relations.

“If you search Zillow for rental homes, very few results populate in the Greater Des Moines area, and we are consistently being asked if single-family rentals are something we provide as a property manager. We hope these can help us fill more of the housing needs that we’re experiencing in Central Iowa,” said Derek Haugen, Vice President of Indigo Living.

Hubbell Homes is a production homebuilder based out of West Des Moines that builds roughly 200 homes per year. Indigo Living is an apartment property management company operating in Iowa, Sioux Falls and Kansas City that currently manages an estimated 7,900 apartments and single-family rental homes.
