Edencrest at Tuscany is an 84-unit senior living community in Altoona, Iowa, and the sixth community within Hubbell’s Edencrest series. As the first Edencrest location in Altoona, the $20.4 million community expanded senior housing options near Hubbell Homes’ Tuscany neighborhood, walking trails, conservation areas, and Terrace Hills Golf Course. The campus includes a three-story independent living community connected by courtyard to a single-story assisted living and memory care building, with studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom options designed to support residents through multiple stages of aging.
Introducing Independent Living
Edencrest at Tuscany marked an important evolution for the Edencrest brand as the first community to introduce independent living, a model that proved successful in serving residents who wanted to remain close to their community while planning for future care needs. Developed and built by Hubbell, the project was supported by an equity raise and PUD structure and included amenities such as a library, dining hall, outdoor patio, fitness centers, walking trails, lounge, hair salon, pub, and community dining room. By bringing independent living, assisted living, and memory care together on one connected campus, Edencrest at Tuscany demonstrated Hubbell’s ability to adapt its senior housing platform and deliver specialized communities that support aging in place.
