VUE is a three-building apartment community developed on infill sites north of downtown Des Moines, offering spacious apartment homes with expansive views of the city skyline. Located across from Mercy College, the community delivered some of the largest apartment layouts available north of downtown, with one-, two-, and three-bedroom homes ranging from approximately 774 to 1,518 square feet. With a focus on resident lifestyle and urban convenience, VUE combined larger floorplans, downtown proximity, and highly desired amenities in a growing residential area.

Elevated Downtown Living

Hubbell developed and built VUE using a layered capital stack that included bank debt, Workforce Housing Tax Credits, Grayfield Tax Credits, and tax abatement, demonstrating its ability to bring complex infill housing projects to life. The community featured an expansive indoor-outdoor top-floor patio, clubroom, package concierge, 24-hour fitness center, underground and above-ground parking, and one of downtown Des Moines’ largest non-city dog parks. By transforming infill parcels into a three-building residential community, VUE showcased Hubbell’s ability to deliver urban housing with scale, amenities, and strong appeal to modern downtown residents.
