Reverse Osmosis Systems Now Standard in Every Hubbell Home

WEST DES MOINES, Iowa — Hubbell Homes announced that all homes constructed on or after October 1, 2026 will now include a certified K5 Reverse Osmosis (RO) Drinking Water System* from Bright Water Kinetico, at no additional cost to the homeowner, reinforcing the homebuilder’s commitment to providing wellness-based improvements for homebuyers.

The new standard is part of Hubbell Homes’ “Better Water. Built In.” initiative, which reflects growing homeowner interest in water quality, health, wellness, and long-term value. The RO water lines are connected to the kitchen sink and refrigerator(s), as well as lower-level wet bar sinks, where applicable.

Traditionally offered as an optional upgrade or installed by homeowner’s post-build, reverse osmosis systems provide an added layer of filtration for drinking water. The water system uses advanced membrane technology to effectively and efficiently remove contaminants from water, including reducing nitrates by up to 91.2 percent. By incorporating the technology into every newly constructed home, Hubbell Homes is removing the need for homeowners to make an additional purchasing decision after closing.

“Hubbell Homes is one of the first homebuilders in the state to install these systems as standard because we believe some of the most important features in a home are the ones you can’t see. Water quality is at the top of mind for so many Iowans, and we wanted to be part of the ongoing solution,” said Rachel Flint, Senior Vice President of Iowa Homebuilding and Land Development with Hubbell Realty Company. “Additionally, Hubbell Realty Company’s founder helped establish Des Moines Water Works in his belief for access to clean water and Hubbell’s been a proud supporter of ICON Water Trails’ mission surrounding enhancing water quality for the last decade, so this is all part of a much bigger picture for us.”

The inclusion of a reverse osmosis system can provide homeowners with long-term convenience and value by reducing the need for bottled water and eliminating the cost and disruption associated with installing a system after move-in.

“It’s fantastic to have a partner that has that forward thinking vision to care for quality of water for Iowans,” said Brook Haas, President & Owner, BrightWater Kinetico. “As homeowners become more informed about their drinking water, solutions that provide convenient, high-quality filtration at home continue to be an increasingly valuable feature. It’s nice to make the choice upfront, including adding minerals and electrolytes back into the systems too.”

The reverse osmosis systems will be included as standard in all new Hubbell Homes constructed on or after October 1.
