Our Brief History
Hubbell Realty Company has been a longstanding and well-known company in central Iowa since 1856. Our founder, F.M. Hubbell built the tallest building west of the Mississippi in 1913 and kick started more than 160 years of downtown Des Moines development.
Our Company Culture
All Hubbell associates are part of a One Hubbell team. Whether that’s working on a job site, managing apartment communities, or overseeing the technology behind our business, we are one team looking ahead to the future. Don’t believe us? Here’s a few quotes from our associates:
- "It’s exciting to go to work where your ideas are valued."– Sarah Riesberg, Project Coordinator
- "With Hubbell, you really do have the opportunity to be autonomous but still be completely supported." – Armond Thigpen, Property Manager
- "Being able to execute your plan, even if it’s not mainstream, even if it’s never been done here at Hubbell before, you have that opportunity to take smart risks and creative ideas that can lead to really great solutions." – Kate Hightshoe, Director, Hubbell Community Management
The culture at Hubbell Realty is fast-paced with a big focus on creativity and constant development of associates’ potential. We also place a high value on fun, philanthropy, and associate wellness. We understand that associates can truly bring their best when they feel happy and connected with their coworkers and greater community. We incorporate activities such as wellness programs, staff get-together's, and volunteer opportunities that allow our associates to take time out of their regular workday to give back to the community.
